Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery was the first cemetery to serve the south side of Chicago. Mount Olivet's activity was slowed by being the first major cemetery to become virtually full, until the acquisition and development of additional property to the east. Mount Olivet has monument lots and marker graves available, as well as Complete Cemetery Service in the Mother Cabrini Shrine. These sections contain graves which include all cemetery costs in a single price. This means that at one time, under one arrangement, a family can provide for graves, interment, grave box, grave identification, grave care and have no further expenses of any kind. The combination Office / Interment Chapel and the Service Building was constructed in 1975.
