Glass Front Niches for Cremated Remains
The Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Chicago are proud to offer the option of Glass Front Niches for those choosing cremation at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL, Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL, and Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL. Niches are an above ground burial crypt, sized for an urn containing the cremated remains of the body. Glass Front Niches are softly lit and contain a glass front, so that your loved one’s cremation urn, Memorial Portrait framed photo and memorialization plaque can be seen.
As a more affordable option, we offer Granite Front Niches, which feature a Granite front and allow for a memorialization plaque, choice of cremation urn, and Memorial Portrait.
Niches with Glass and Granite Fronts are located within Indoor Community Mausoleums, which offer a permanent place to go remember your loved ones. An advantage of the Indoor Mausoleum is that it allows for year-round visitation in a quiet and climate-controlled settings, regardless of the weather conditions. The Mausoleums house an indoor chapel, beautiful stained-glass windows, unique statuary, reliquaries of Saints, and other works of art. These features truly make entombment within the Mausoleum an aesthetically pleasing and dignified way to visit and pay tribute to your loved ones.
Memorial Portraits
Memorial Portraits allow your loved one’s memorial to be as unique as they were. Our portraits evoke happy memories and contribute to the preservation of your loved one’s legacy for future generations.
Memorial Portraits feature the portrait of your loved one surrounded by a beautiful bronze frame. Portraits are made of high-quality materials that are resistant to wear or fading. They are available as free-standing portraits with a stand for placement within Glass Front Niches and are affixable to Granite Front Niches.
