St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum

About

Consecrated in 1958, St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, located in Palatine, Illinois, spans 303 acres and has over 28,000 interments (as of 12/31/22). St. Michael the Archangel serves the far northwestern Cook County suburbs. The Our Lady of the Angels Garden Mausoleum crypt complex was dedicated by Cardinal Bernardin in 1995, and offers outdoor above-ground burial spaces for full-body and cremated remains.

St. Michael the Archangel also features the Meadows of St. Kateri, marking a historic milestone as the first Natural Burial area within the Archdiocese of Chicago. Inspired by St. Kateri Tekakwitha’s profound connection to nature, this sacred space is designed for those seeking an eco-friendly burial option. The Meadows of St. Kateri beautifully harmonizes time-honored Catholic traditions with a commitment to environmental stewardship. To view photos and learn more about our Natural Burial option, click here.

Testimonials

We buried my husband's ashes at St. Michael's cemetery and will always remember the wonderful care we were given. From the Service Representative to the young man who shoveled the dirt to fill the grave, the entire staff was marvelous. They were all professional, attentive, helpful and compassionate. Their help and concern were very comforting in our time of grief. "Well done, good and faithful servants."

The office staff was really nice! Especially under the circumstances of my uncle's death. We comparison-shopped and found that this cemetery keeps the grounds immaculate.  The cleanliness of the place shows how much they value the deceased.

Their affordable plans made it so easy for me to take care of it on my own and not burden my family. Plus as a Catholic I am so grateful to be buried in a Catholic cemetery.

I am pleased with how easy it was to pick out our grave spots.
Highly recommended.
