The historically Lithuanian Cemetery features the Founder’s Shrine, a now-retired Memorial Bell, which announced the arrival of funeral processions at the Cemetery. The Founder’s Shrine honors the Lithuanian parishes that built the Cemetery. The St. Casimir Shrine is dedicated to the patron saint of Lithuania, which the Cemetery is named in honor of. The fifteenth century prince, son of the King of Poland, and Grand Duke of Lithuania, was known for his charity and piety before his death of illness at the age of 25.
