Good Shepherd
Consecrated in 2005, Good Shepherd Cemetery is the newest Cemetery in the Archdiocese of Chicago, established to serve the Catholic population of the southwest suburbs. Located in Orland Park, Illinois, the Cemetery spans 306 acres and has over 4,000 interments (as of 12/31/22). The Cemetery features one-of-a-kind religious artwork and imagery, from the twenty-foot cross at the entrance, the welcoming statue of the Good Shepherd, the fifty-foot bell tower, beautiful stained glass, and intricate mosaics. The office offers arrangement rooms for families to meet for one-on-one consultation and three interment chapels for celebrating committal service prayers. In 2020, In response to the growing popularity of cremation, Good Shepherd became the site of the third Cremation Garden in the Archdiocese of Chicago. The Garden of Restful Waters provides an array of interment choices in a picturesque outdoor setting. The Garden Mausoleum crypt complex features outdoor above-ground burial spaces for full-body and cremated remains.
